A BIG heartfelt thanks to Kylee Rae's Mom for volunteering her time to teach Junior Achievement skills to the Hoeschen Huskies. This week, students learned about families and how jobs and businesses contribute to the well-being of the neighborhood.

Hello!
*This week we will have our spelling test and Speak-up on Friday. *The spelling patterns that we are working on this week in reading are very difficult (er, ir, ur, or...all making the sounds "er" as in her) On the back of the worksheets this week are words and sentences for fluency practice. Please take some extra time to read these and give the spelling words extra practice. *For the next two weeks, we will be working on geometry in math. We will talk about 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes. Please have your child bring in a few objects that can be left in our "Shapes Museum" for several days. The objects should not be valuable or breakable. Here are a few ideas....something that has a triangle, circle, or a square in it. *Please continue to send snow pants and boots with your child even as the snow begins to melt next week. The playground will be very muddy when things start to thaw. I also suggested to the kids that they have a pair of extra mittens/gloves and socks with to change into if needed. Thanks! |
